The Open Source Preservation
Following the regulatory wind-down of the Diem Association, the core "Move" codebase was released to the public. While corporate assets were sold to Silvergate Capital, the open-source community archived the protocol to ensure the technology remained accessible.
2022
The Community Fork
As Silvergate focused on stablecoins, independent developers recognized the potential of the MoveVM. The "MetaChain Initiative" was formed not as a company, but as a DAO-managed fork to continue development where the corporate entity stopped.
Divergence from Aptos/Sui
While other ex-Diem teams pursued venture capital funding (Aptos, Sui), MetaChain chose a different path: 100% community-driven development. No VC pre-sale, no corporate board. Focusing on stability over theoretical speed.
Consensus Implementation
Adoption of the Bullshark/Narwhal consensus mechanism. We prioritized "Fair Ordering" of transactions to prevent MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) bots, distinguishing our chain as the most user-friendly execution environment.
Devnet V1
First public Devnet launch. Developers invited to test the "Move" smart contracts. Focus on security verification and preventing the re-entrancy attacks common in Solidity-based chains.
2023
Interoperability Standards
Integration of the Metaverse Object Standard. Instead of building a "walled garden" like Horizon Worlds, we built an open protocol allowing assets to move between Unity, Unreal Engine, and WebXR environments.
Account Abstraction
Native implementation of social recovery wallets. Solving the "Lost Private Key" problem by allowing multi-sig recovery via trusted contacts, a critical feature for mass adoption.
Foundation Formation
Establishment of the MetaChain Foundation in Zug, Switzerland. A non-profit entity tasked with coordinating open-source contributions and managing the treasury transparency reports.
Alpha Testnet
Public Alpha. 50+ DApps ported from the Move ecosystem. Initial stress testing shows stable throughput of 10,000+ TPS, validating the architecture for consumer-grade applications.

Incentivized Testnet
Launch of "Operation Velocity". 10,000 validators joined to stress-test the network. Unlike centralized chains, we prioritized node diversity across 40+ countries to ensure censorship resistance.
Security Audits
Comprehensive audits by top-tier firms (CertiK, Halborn). Formal verification of the core modules completed. We are building for financial-grade security, not just speed.
Developer Grants
Allocation of 20% of the initial supply to the Developer Grant Program. Funding innovative "SocialFi" and "GameFi" projects that leverage the unique parallel processing capabilities of MoveVM.
Genesis Preparation
Finalizing the Genesis Validator set. Onboarding institutional node operators and infrastructure providers to ensure Day 1 reliability. Dry-run of the mainnet launch sequence.

Regulatory Compliance
Securing legal opinions confirming the token's utility status. Aligning with MiCA (EU) and Swiss FINMA guidelines to ensure long-term viability and regulatory clarity for institutional adopters.
Bridge Deployment
Launch of the decentralized bridge connecting MetaChain to Ethereum and BNB Chain. Enabling secure asset transfer to bootstrap liquidity for the upcoming mainnet.
Mainnet Genesis Preparation
Genesis validators confirmed. Full network dry-run completed with zero critical failures. Smart contracts formally verified by independent security firms. The chain is ready — awaiting community pre-sale before public activation.
2026
Pre-Sale Preparation
Pre-sale platform built and audited. KYC/AML procedures finalized. Community whitelist opened for early participants. Tokenomics and vesting schedules published for full transparency ahead of the public sale.
Platform Readiness
MetaWallet, Deposit, Swap, and Withdraw went live for the community. MetaAirdrop remained open for eligible KYC. Final infrastructure checks completed ahead of the September public pre-sale.
Community Pre-Sale
September 15, 2026 — 00:00 UTC: Public pre-sale opens to all community members. A community-first distribution — no VC allocation, no private rounds. Every token sold directly funds the DAO Treasury and ecosystem growth.
Mainnet Launch & Exchange Listings
October 10, 2026: After the September 15 pre-sale, MetaChain Mainnet goes live. Simultaneous listing on Tier-1 Centralized Exchanges (CEX) and DEXs. META becomes accessible to the global retail market with deep liquidity from day one. Optional Zero-Knowledge privacy for sensitive payments and the ultralight mobile client follow the mainnet launch.
2027
Enterprise Subnets
Launch of dedicated subnets for enterprise partners. Allowing corporations to run high-performance private chains that settle to the MetaChain public mainnet.
Decentralized ID
Global rollout of the MetaID standard. A unified, self-sovereign identity protocol allowing users to control their data across Web3 applications without centralized intermediaries.
Cross-Chain Interop
Implementation of advanced interoperability protocols (IBC). Enabling seamless asset and data flow between MetaChain, Ethereum, and the Cosmos ecosystem.
